PEASTON GARDENS – TERRIGAL TOWNHOUSE

Starting as a few separate blocks of land with separate owners and existing dwellings, the brief was to design a development of resort-style townhouses.

The site presented its challenges including the fact that it was an unusual shaped sloping block in the middle of a suburban area, surrounded by single dwellings. We designed split level townhouses to terrace down the contour of the site and used lush tropical landscaping and a communal swimming pool to fill out the unusual spaces of the site. We transformed an existing dwelling (owned by Mr Peaston – hence the name ‘Peaston Gardens’) into two townhouses.

The development is made up of twelve split-level townhouses and two single story villas, each with their own private garden area. Part of the brief was to include two single story villas to accommodate two of the owners who were in their later years, so these were built on the flat area at the front of the block to allow for single-story-living and easy access for the owners.

The design was inspired by tropical Queensland with luscious landscaping, bold and bright colours and each townhouse featuring our signature pitched and gabled roof design.

Peaston Gardens was awarded the Small Residential Project Award and the Hunter, Central Coast & Northern NSW Region Award by the Urban Development Industry Australia (UDIA) .
