SKILLION APARTMENTS
Four luxury apartments with sweeping coastal views, common rooftop terrace, rear pool, secured basement parking.
These 7 residential apartments are located on a steep hillside overlooking Terrigal town and beaches. From street level the building is near level but then drops away quickly chasing the steep terrain, so steep in fact that it required car lifts to be able to park vehicles off street, as required by council. The design was based primarily around three factors, the stunning views, solar access and a large magnolia tree located in the middle of the site. The tree provided an opportunity to create a landscaped central courtyard space in the centre of the development which afforded good breathing space to each unit to capture light and breezes and be up amongst the tree line. From the street the building is set-up to be near symmetrical, with two skillion pop up roofs, one on either side. These roof’s create a very dramatic effect on top the hillside providing visual interest and the opportunity for clerestory glazing to feed light into internal living spaces.
