The intent was to create a beautiful family home that would sit comfortably within the landscape and pay homage to the existing 100yr old cottage on the site. The design takes inspiration from the surrounding bushland and natural environment with the north facing axis designed to utilise optimal solar design and embrace the views.

Each room features vast amounts of natural lighting and cross ventilation. The house features a central stone core to aid in thermal mass storage to the living areas. The selected material palette is composed of locally sourced sandstone and timber wherever possible.

Oversized eaves and wide pergola areas provide relief and protection from the exterior elements. A pool side sunken Pizza Pit provides the ultimate entertaining spot to enjoy year round with heating from the oven or Balinese inspired fans for cooling. Large in-ground water tanks collect rainwater to service the dwelling and surrounding property.
