For example, homes that don’t allow for natural ventilation can feel stuffy, especially in our warm summers. So, we prioritise cross-breezes through clever window placement and raked ceilings to keep your home fresh and comfortable.
Sometimes layouts try to fit too many rooms without considering flow, making the home feel disconnected. That’s why I always focus on creating spaces that connect naturally—where each room flows to the next, but still offers moments of privacy when needed.
We also carefully balance openness with shelter, using deep eaves and thoughtful shading to protect you from the harsh sun while inviting light and warmth during cooler months.

Beach House 1 is a beautiful example of how modern architecture can live in harmony with the coast.
The home’s façade gracefully combines warm, natural bluestone with crisp lightly coloured render, creating a look that feels both timeless and distinctly Australian. This pairing pays homage to the coastal elements surrounding the site while lending a refined, contemporary elegance.
Inside, open spaces and expansive windows flood the living spaces with natural light, reinforcing the connection to the ocean and surrounding landscape.
Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors open seamlessly to the outdoors, inviting indoor-outdoor flow that’s essential for relaxed beach living.

WAMBERAL BEACHFRONT HOUSE: BOLD OUTLOOK & RESILIENT COASTAL LIVING
The Wamberal Beachfront House is designed to embrace its stunning seafront location while responding with sophistication to the realities of coastal life.
From the outset, the architecture balances strong, durable materials — like exposed stonework — with meticulous detailing to withstand salt, wind, and severe storm events. Large spans of glazing frame uninterrupted ocean views, while the structural form is anchored and grounded visually by solid textures underfoot and overhead.
On the upper floor, private bedrooms and living spaces are positioned to capture expansive coastal vistas and natural breezes. Downstairs, the ground floor is laid out for family living: open-plan gathering zones flow seamlessly onto terraces and landscaped outdoor spaces that connect directly to the beach environment. A central skylight in the stair void pulls in light, creating a vertical spine that links all levels.
Inside, the material palette is restrained yet rich: concrete, stone, and warm natural finishes combine for a neutral backdrop that lets light, volume and view take centre stage. Custom joinery optimises storage for an active family’s gear, while finish detailing retains an elegant, resort-style calm.
Practicality is key. The design incorporates a basement to house six cars, surfboards, watersport equipment and beach gear, plus a gym — all built into the fabric of the home without compromising its graceful character.
VISTA HOUSE: RESPONDING TO SITE AND COASTAL CONTEXT
Vista House demonstrates a considered architectural response to a gently sloping coastal block. The design is informed by the site’s natural contours and outlook, with the built form stepping and orienting to maximise views while maintaining a strong connection to its surroundings.

Vaulted ceilings and large balconies extend the interior spaces outward, framing uninterrupted ocean views and enhancing natural ventilation.
Internally, a restrained material and colour palette supports the architecture rather than competing with it, allowing light, scale, and outlook to define the character of the home. Window placement, ceiling heights, and spatial transitions have been carefully resolved to balance privacy, openness, and orientation to the coast.
